dear diary,
my life in new zealand has been alright so far. sometimes i feel damn 'sian', but other times, just happy. so what have i been doing so far? hmmm...
i want more money!! ahhh hahahha. i saw this really nice roxy handbag and its $35! so it'll be $40 singapore dollars. but its really nice. and i saw this other roxy bag which is a little bigger and i can definitely use it for school in new zealand next year. (: this one is $25. they're so nice! i bought 2 new outfits yesterday. would you believe, alice went all the way to botany just to look for me and called me when she reached home 2 hours later. i was like wth. hahhaa. anyway, she's a really sweet girl. i forgot to blog about this, but on the first day i came to new zealand, i met up with angela as she was going back to malaysia the next day. we were supposed to meet at mac at 2.30pm, but she was half an hour late! anyway, i was waiting there for almost half an hour when i finally gave up. i mean really, after 15 mins i was getting really pissed and irritated but i decided to give it another 15 mins. by 3pm, i was really really pissed and i didnt know what to do as it was my first day back in new zealand! angry and irritated, i went to the stupid phone (i dont have a nz card yet), paid 70 stupid cents and called home, intending to ask my parents to pick me up when they just dropped me off. =/ instead, they werent home. oh yeah, stupid me. i forgot they were going shopping after dropping me off. i didnt even wanna walk home! i was too lazy. besides, i didnt have the house key. so i called the only other number that i knew in the whole of new zealand - alice's number. i called her and wailed, asking her what to do. she said "christine.. dont worry.. i'll come down to mac and meet you there now" and i was so happy! yay! hahahha. so i sat back down and waited for alice. when i sat down, this guy that had been staring at me for ages asked me "hey... are you ok?" and i said "im just waiting for my friend... she was supposed to meet me half an hour ago and she's so damn late" and he was like "oh okay..." then he started asking me questions like what form was i in, what school did i go to, where i lived, blah blah and i didnt want to answer him. he looekd disgusting anyway. and i dont talk to strangers. (: hhaha. anyway, i really didnt want to talk to him and i was getting more pissed by the second. THEN he said the question "hey, do you need me to drive you anywhere? cos i have a car and i can drive you.." i was like wth. another pervert man. just like those two other freaks in new zealand. just cos they have a car, they think they can go round and pick girls up and do funny things to them. i mean, im not jumping to conclusions here but really. why would you wanna drive someone around wherever they like? especially if you dont even know that person? and hello. he's like 20+. im only 15. whatever intentions he had were bad and i didnt want to find out. hahha. so i was like "errrrr... its okay. im waiting for my friend". and then he said "ok.. im gonna watch a movie by myself now... see you". lols. then he left. he was gonna watch a movie by himself? what a loser. hahaha. anyway, just when alice came, angela arrived with meslissa as well. =/ hahaha. so the 4 of us hanged out.
okay anyway that was old news.
new news! (:
alice slept over at my place! we slept at 4am. wahaha. (: i took a picture of her sleeping at 4am too. she got up, screaming at me. and she told me if i took another pic of her, she would leave the house. she also covered her face with her sleeping bag. so i decided to take another picture of her covering her face with her sleeping bag but i didnt know, that at the exact moment, she took her cover off and the camera got a full blast of her face! oh my god. it was so funny!! hahahah. i kept laughing and laughing. hahah. how would i know that at that exact moment she would take off her cover! so i have a really really nice pic. (: hahahha. and she was lik really pissed with me.
i was at k mart yesterday and guess who i saw! emily! hahaha (: it was a year since i last saw her. she' working at k mart now and still at howick college. she gave me her cellphone number and home number and told me to call her so that we could hang out before i fly back to Singapore. hahah. we also played pool! i actually dont play pool but here it's so boring and xtreme's near my place so we played pool 3 times. it only cost $2 and we keep treating each other. hahaha. would you believe, i won 3 games! hahaha. for a person that doesnt play pool, i think i played really well. hahahha. im also beginning to think im a pro. hahaha. just kidding.
today when we were hanging out at the top roof, we saw 3 korean guys. she was like "its albert's friend... remember?" and i suddenly remembered and said "oh! the guy rulin likes!" wahahha. i turned around and saw eric. he was smoking. hahaha. he didnt recongnize me but i think he recongnized alice. i was like "hey eric. remember me?" and he got such a shock. hahaha. his mouth literally dropped open. alice was laughing hard-out. we ate lunch at the food court in the middle of botany. pasta and sushi. she ordered potatoes. mmm. it was nice. (: she's going back to hong kong this sat. hahaha. kim's gonna stay over at my place. =) and her mum works in queenstreet so we can hang there too. =)
by the way, i think i've found the school that i wanna go to. its called elim christian college. its also a private school but its only $2000 a year whereas ACG is $20 000 a year. my parents say "its up to me" and i feel really grateful that they're letting me choose where i wanna go. it means alot to me. anyway, elim christian college is more of a school whereas ACG is more like a university. firstly, ACG is in the city and that means that every morning i have to wake up at 6am to get ready, leave the house by 7am, and catch the 7.15am bus to queenstreet. from there i can either walk to school or take the free city bus since school starts at 8.30am. however, the each subject period is 85 mins which is really long. school also ends at 4.45pm and i'll have to catch the 5.30pm bus which means that i'll be home around 6.30pm. and i wanna work too so if i have school that intense everyday, i'll be too tired to work. and ACG is a really really stressful school, its like being in RGS in Singapore. so whats the point of leaving stressful singapore and come to another stressful school in new zealand? i might as well stay in singapore right? they have a 98% percentage of students going to university in ACG and in elim christian college its 70%. but really, all you have to do is study hard and you'll definitely enter university. that has always been my goal since i was a kid. not really a goal i guess, but it's just natural to me since everyone around me is going to university. besides, now-a-days in life, where can you go without a proper degree? anyway, elim christian college is more of a school and they take care of their students. ACG pushes you really hard just to keep their standard. in ACG, you can wear whatever clothes you want of course, but not beach wear. in elim, there's school uniform. and you have to tie your hair! wth. i like letting down my hair. when i heard you have to tie your hair in elim, i told my mom that i didnt wanna go there. she was like "what! you want me to pay $20 000 just so that you can let down your hair?" hahaha. it was really funny. but they're letting me choose. moreover, elim christian college is a christian school and they do pray with students just mgs is a methodist school. the reason students only have to pay $2000 is because most of the fees are paid by the church since its a christian school if not the fees would be around $18 500 as well. plus elim is nearer my house so my parents can drive me to school and pick me up everyday as well. the transportation in new zealand definitely has to change, really. anyway, i think i've made my decision. all i have to do now is pray and think. (:
lastly, tomorrow this girl that will be going to elim christian college in year 13 will be coming to my house with her parents tomorrow. she's from singapore and she just moved to new zealand as well. anyway, if i enter elim christian college, i'll be doing Year 12. the subs i'll be doing are english, math, chem, economics and multi-media. elim christian college does NCEA.
if i go to ACG, i'll be taking eng, math, chem, business studies and economics. as you can see, i want to take media studies in university so multi media will have a little background. hahha. life has been good. although i miss Singapore very much, its comforting to know that i'll be seeing Singapore on the 20th of dec. (:
with loves; christine
